An innocent Jumma villager detained by army in Rangamati

Hill Voice, 29 November 2022, Rangamati: An innocent Jumma villager has been picked up and detained by the Bangladesh Army from Mogban Union area of ​​Rangamati Sadar Upazila under Rangamati district. However, it is not known where the villager has been kept.

The victim villager is identified as Hengotya Tanchangya (35), son of Rabidhan Tanchangya, Village-Agoiyachari Monpara, Mogban Union. Hengotya Tanchangya is said to be a poor daily wage labourer.

According to local sources, yesterday, November 28, 2022, around 5:00 p.m., an army team of 70-75 members from the Ghagra army sub-zone of Kaukhali upazila under the control of the Rangamati army zone went on an army operation to a place called Tin Battal of Mogban union on the border of Ghagra. The army then went to the neighboring village of Agoiyachari Monpara and captured Hengotya Tanchangya.

Even after one night and one day of writing this report, Hengotya Tanchangya has not been released. It is not known where he is being held.

Army personnel are said to be staying in the area so far.
