Army patrol operations resume once again in Jurachari

Hill Voice, 7 October 2025, Rangamati: Reports have emerged that army patrol operations have once again been launched in Jurachari upazila of Rangamati Hill District. It has been learnt that the army has already stationed at the government primary school in Pek Para village, located in Ward No. 9 of Jurachari Union in Jurachhari.

According to local sources, a group of army numbering 30 personnel led by a Subedar from the Jaksha Bazar Army Camp under the Banjogichara Zone in Jurachari upazila of Rangamati has been stationed at the government primary school in Pek Para village, Ward No. 9 of Jurachari Union in Jurachari upazila since around 8 p.m. yesterday.

On the other hand, it has been reported that another group of army has already been stationed at the Gaboichara Government Primary School in Ward No. 3 of Dumdumya Union of the same upazila. This group of army is said to be conducting joint operations under the Dhupshil and Shaheed Atiar camps, which fall under the jurisdiction of the 32 Bir Digholchari Zone of Bilaichari upazila.

A local public representative, requesting anonymity, stated that they are still unaware of why these army patrol operations are being carried out or for what reasons. However, he mentioned that the presence of these patrolling army has created fear and anxiety among the local residents.
